Before you appoint a marine surveyor
What information is needed for a Poland marine survey quote?
Provide the exact marina, harbour, lake or yard, vessel particulars, construction, purpose and preferred date. Include launch or winter-storage status, haul-out, sea trial and any insurer, lender or Polish safety-document requirement.
Can one surveyor cover the Baltic coast and Masurian Lakes?
Potentially, but they are separate travel markets. Road distance, seasonal access, accommodation, yard arrangements and the surveyor’s availability must be agreed.
Does Polish yacht registration always require a technical survey?
Registration and safety certification are separate questions. Polish maritime rules require defined inspections or technical documents for certain sea-going and commercial yachts, using a Maritime Office, recognised organisation or authorised entity as applicable.
Can a stored or winterised yacht be surveyed?
Yes, but covers, disconnected batteries, drained systems, stepped masts and an uncommissioned engine create limitations. Agree whether a second afloat inspection or sea trial is required.
Are travel, launching, haul-out and sea trial included?
Only when expressly included. Road travel, accommodation, storage access, crane or lift, launch, wash, relaunch, skipper, fuel and specialist testing can be separate.
Who appoints the marine surveyor?
The client appoints and instructs the independent surveyor directly after agreeing scope, fee, timing and terms. Poland Marine Survey provides information and introductions only.
